[Warning-Nudity] Striga

This should have been done long long ago, around October last year. I picked it up recently again, just to finish it off so I could move on to new paintings. It was really difficult because I normally start hating a painting about a month after it is done, so to work on it when I had already started wishing I had never started it was...difficult.
Anyway, this image was inspired by the Daily Sketch topic "Self portrait as a Vampire" I drew about two of those and I just needed to do one finished vampire painting. Hehehe.

You can see the WIP here : http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=31&t=354146&page=19&pp=15
She had a lot more on her- jewelry, clothes etc, but I took it off because the more I thought about the story, the more unnecessary it seemed
Many, many thanks to all the wonderful people who took the time to comment, critique, kept me inspired and generally helped me to finish this image!

Some of you may have seen this in my WIP thread, I finally got around to painting her hair.
I have a goth doll version of me as my MSN display picture, and my friend really really wanted one of hers too. I've been wanting to paint something for her as a thank you for modelling for my Qiane painting. So, here it is. For Cho, who -is- a doll

So funny, I've never played with dolls, ever, and now all of a sudden I find myself painting them.Hmm.

Qiane, Goddess of Illusions

Goddess and Queen of Eithanas, Qiane is the personification of the false realm itself. Or maybe Eithanas is just an extension of her. Shifting between the living world and the afterlife, those who get into Eithanas may not get out, unless the Goddess wills them so.

The daughter of Rakhn, she inherited his power of weaver-magic. But while Rakhn prefered to weave his way into the fates of the living, Qiane wove her magic into creating her own world.Though, what her hands created, her sight destroyed. So she veiled her eyes, content to live in her own illusionary world and see through Valha and Mentit, her pet crows.

----

Shamelessly enough, I drew this character of mine prematurely only because I wanted to submit something for Exotique 2, haha .
Many MANY thanks to all those who helped me in my WIP thread.

Tainted

(From Wikipedia) There is a story about the pierrot which relates how a small naked boy was found outside the gates of Heaven. It was winter, and as St Peter picked up the child and blessed him, the snow on his body turned into a suit of pure white clothing. St Peter adopted the child and gave him his own name - Little Peter or Pierrot - but there was one condition, Pierrot was not to be allowed to play with any of the human children he might come across as he wandered outside the gates of Paradise. Of course, this was almost impossible for a small boy, and on his return from just such a meeting he realised that his white suit now had black marks on it where the ordinary children had touched him. They proclaimed his guilt, and Pierrot was excluded from Paradise forevermore.

Here is my version of the Pierrot, derived from the story and from the pantomime image(the red mouth cut to make it larger, the make up, hair etc).

This is an image of a being which once was so pure, so immaculate, that its flesh seared where it was touched by others. And in touching it, they had contaminated it too.

Only the pristine whiteness of the hair remained, a vestige of the purity it once had and lost, a mockery of its past.

I'm in the middle of my final exams here, but I just -had- to paint this image. It has haunted me for ever now. Yay for my new tablet. It's so nice to paint with something that actually works.

They asked me to submit my reference too, but my friend is not very thrilled with the idea of me posting her image online, so I pasted another reference of another friend's eyes on top. I hope this is alright . You can check the nose and the jaw, that's what I needed reference for anyway
